2nd day of hospital attachment

K, today was my 2nd day at gleneagles. Haihz damn lazy to blog la but aiyar just blog only la since NO ONE ELSE EVER BLOG!! hmph! it's only me and oli now! En also not saying anything anymore. YEah anyways today was also my last day at the hosp. Change of plans la. The other two girls thought that the attachment was for only 2 days. So they got attached to GH for tmr. So they asked the lady in charged whether they could finish up the whole thing (as in visit all the departments they were scheduled to go to) so they don't have to come tmr. The lady said ok and asked whether the rest of us want to do the same. So since it's kinda boring if we spend 2 hrs at one department, we decided to do the same la. So today we covered Rehab & Physio, Laboratory and Pharmacy. We didnt go to the Diagnostics department cos apparently we already went there yest as the small surgery WY's dad did yest was held at the operation theatre there la.

Jean & I, we started with the Pharmacy department. The lady actually said we don't have to go there coz it's boring but since Jean plans to do Pharmacy later on, so she wants to check out how is it like la. There was nothing much there la. Spend like 20 mins? there only. The person in charged there just told us the procedures of packing the medicine n all la.

Then we went to Rehab & Physio department which was SUPPOSE to be cool coz the group who went there yest said they got to see a lot of patients. So when we went there, we were like, okayy what's so nice about this place. All the docs there were too busy to even layan us. One of them just told us to look around ourselves and ask the patients some questions if they don't mind. We obviously didnt wanna disturb them, like u know, scared they sensitive and all la. So we just stood there like a bunch of idiots -.-"! Then after that we went left and looked into another room where they have more serious patients. It was more interesting there cos the physios there actually brought the group who was there around. Then there was this man who was paralysed waist down. His helicopter crashed or sth liddat n fortunately he survived but he's now paralysed. That was like in 1997 i think? So since he's paralysed, he had to modify his car a bit to accommodate to his er handicapness. Yea. So the kind fella offered to show us his car la. At first i was like expecting this chunted high tech car or sth but it's actually just the accelerator and breaks that's diff. Not really diff but he screwed in this long er..stick to his breaks n accelerator so that he can control it with his hands. Meaning he has to hold the steering wheel with one hand, that stick with another..then i was thinking HOW ABOUT THE GEAR?! But since it's an auto car so it's not that difficult la. But i still dunno how he does it. Okay i think i'm talking too much shit here.

Okay then we went back up to the rehab & physio place. Then another patient came in. Quite sad case wan this one. This guy, Jeremy (prolly about a yr or 2 older than us only), he got robbed outside TAR College last yr i think and he fell n hit his head on the divider n was in a coma for 4 mths. He woke up like b4 CNY la but now he cant walk, talk, or do anything la. He cant even sit up straight. He can talk la but it's like kinda difficult for him to talk. He mumbles la. Quite sad. So they were exercising his feet and all and making him talk. Like we ask the mom questions, then they'll be like "No, don't answer, let jeremy answer." I guess that was the coolest part at the department altho it was quite sadening to see some of the patients there.

After that we had lunch. Then went to the lab which was quite cool! They have like diff diff sections in the lab. Histology, cytology (duno how to spell), haemotology n so on la i can't remember. The man there was like so nice. So enthusiastic to show us around, unlike all the other departments. He showed us how some of the machine there works. Like there r machines to count your blood, like red blood cells and white blood cells and all the lymphosites n those stuff la. Thne they have another machine to see ur cholesterol lvl n all and another one more i forgot what it does. Then they showed us the blood bank or mayb i think it was a blood bank. It's just a freezer where they keep those donated blood. Got lots more la but i kinda lazy to type and i think i'm boring all of u to death so i shall stop here.

And omg i'm having this MAJOR HUGE LUM-NESS on HEATH LEDGER!! lol!! I was watching 10 things i hate about u just now and the WHOLE TIME i was wondering whether that guy was heath ledger, coz i don't remember him looking so younG! Then i found out that it WAS HIM!! woohoo!! such a sweeet movie! Lolz!! N he was only 20 when he acted in that movie. Now he's 27! Lolz!!! =D
