Of Dodol & DVDs

I swear our blog is turning into some kind of food review blog... I bear the guilt. *blush* But kenot meh! If not nth to blog also. Heheh!

Look what my dear Rhino of a brother brought back for me from Penang!

Dodol & dao sa kueh! For those of u blur sotongs, dodol is a sweet delicacy that has a wonderful creamy and lingering taste. Normally served during Hari Raya Holidays. The other one u should know lah, it's quite common. But when he first told me he bought me Dragon Ball Biscuits i was like, what's that?

Yumm~! Available in durian, pandan & brown sugar flavours. Very sticky & it tastes like some kinda Malaysian caramel. Never tried before? I'll bring for u all one day.

Off to buy dvds in Bangsar after dinner.. I saw a young Indian guy leaning against his car acting all bergaya cool, smoking & drinking chocolate milk.

Chocolate milk??

Quite the funny loh. In one hand he was holding a ciggie, in the other a carton of chocolate milk & he kept swtiching between the two. I dunno lah, i found it quite unusual to see a grown man drinking chocolate milk while smoking. Would have taken a pic but didnt want him to throw the milk at me.

Wait, got something to show u guys. I swear, i nearly died. Oh the disgrace of imitation movies...

Say oh my gosh x10 fast. Sounds familiar? Well, it should. Next will be on a bus or in a car or ferry. Lol!!

Next was this. -_-" Wth?? Cracked me up! Must be some kinda ham tai in pirate setting. I'll only buy if got Johnny Depp ler..

Off to Petaling Street this morning =) Hadnt been there in a long while.

My mum: full time taxi driver, babysitter, cook, etc. You know wut they say bout mums having the most underpaid job =p So love ur moms!

Oh, the nostalgia - beef ball & Pusat Tuisyen Kasturi days :D Totally forgot bout all the good food u can get there.

Bro digging into some chee cheong fan & yong tau fu

Asam laksaaa~ Muahaha.. Bet im making u ppl hungry again.

Ok, swallow ur saliva as we enter the wet market section.

Poor chicken! All the men kept laughing when i took pictures like a jackoon. And i saw a guy plunging two struggling chicken into a pot of boiling water :( My brother was watching the whole thing with his mouth open.

He actually smiled & posed with the chicken but i didnt get that shot in. Lol

It's amazing how unappetizing meat looks when it's raw. Not that anything comes between Mic & her beef of course ;)

So colourful & fresh!

This reminded me of the Mahjong Master movie & i couldnt help a chuckle. Tou fu man so fair!

We shall go back one of these days & have a flashback moment :) What say you, ppl? I miss high school!

Coulrophobia

With references to wayn's post, it is confirmed dat i am freakin afraid of clowns!!!. All thanks to Sammy.. ahhaha! u know i wasnt scared of clowns until im 18 yrs old.. stupid as it sounds. Well there was one incident that triggered this phobia..

I went to Malacca on Monday.. HARI RAYYAAA!!~ ok anyway.. yesterday my dad brought us ( me, sis, bro and sheryl) to this new shopping mall supposedly the biggest in Malacca. It is still very new and quite empty la. There was this program going on for lil kids.. some kung fu competition or sth.. dis small boy whoz damn chubby and stumpy kicked and he fell backwards!! ahahah! damn cute.. and the program was hosted by none other than.. *drum rolls* A CLOWN!.. not just one clown.. there were DOZENS of clowns everywhere in that dumbass mall.

So we were standing around thinking where to start.. then this clown was standing near us.. So i kinda got scared and stood closer to my dad and said "yer i dont lik clowns.." so probably that clown heard me. Next thing i saw when i turn around was that clown walking very slowly behind me.. expression damn stoned, like some kinda clown serial killer followin me.. OMG i totally freaked..screamed..started running.. and then cried. i know la.. its only a man.. but i duno wut got into me it was juz so freaky.. i ran all the way to the other side of the mall.. (which is quite far btw) and refused to look back.. haahah!

so now dis thing is lik..sth for my brother to tease me about.. everytime he sees a clown he will say "eh capri jie jie ur fren *LOL*" Embarassing sial!~~

Details..

Shann has no time to blog to tell you guys about the details of the trip so she asked me to blog instead.

Destination: Penang

Duration: 4 days 3 nights

Date: 19 Dec (*cough* that date looks sooo familiar) to 22 Dec

Mode of Transport: KTM to Butterworth (6 hours) and then ferry across to the island

Accomodation: Paradise Hotel at Tanjung Bunga (4 star hotel)

Cost: RM390 per night, 3 ppl per room so that makes RM130 per person per night (can't we just make everyone sleep in one room?). I think its including our meals as well.

Okay, I can't remember what she else she said cuz I was half asleep when she called. But I think I remember her mentioning that the total cost might come up to RM700 *shrieks*. Just hope I got it wrong =)

KS, you mentioned your trip to Langkawi costs only about RM300+? She said it's not possible so I don't know. Don't ask me.

PS: Shann, when you read this, fill in all the extra info I missed out.

Oh yea, she wants comments.

Restaurant reviews & random things

It's 8am on this Sunday morn *hums Sunday Morning* & I'M AWAKE. This is very the strange. Anyway, since im up i might as well take this chance to blog as I can sense another one of those dead periods!

First of all, *Sam waggles finger at En Li, Michelle & Capri*. Where were u guys yesterday, hmmm? Got exams / assignments also must still make it a point to go for CG at least. The Lord comes first in all things k. And dont stress or worry too much cause it shows our lack of faith. I dont know, that's my secret =)

Nxt, most of u prolly know already but... I GOT MY CAR!!! ^_____^
Parents want me to practice first though, before i put anyone at harm. It's a hawt red Toyota Yaris. My carplate no:

Dont forget it, yeah? Easier way of remembering it: B*** job fast 100 times! Boob job lah.. Wut u thinking.

Anyway, ive been to a few nice restaurants lately & i'll just put up some pics here with short reviews. We can try out these restaurants for future gatherings & such.

I bet some of you have heard of it before.. Quite popular. And no wonder too. Food & ambience is great! Upstairs is more of the dining area whereas downstairs there's a live jazz band, a huge plasma screen for watching football & is more for chilling. But u can eat downstairs too.

I found this really cute. The fish was served in a hot plate shaped like a fish! So yeah, we should definately have dinner here sometime if you all like Thai food. There's even a great pineapple fried rice for ppl who kenot tahan spicy like Capri. But she's learning! *clap clap*

The weekend after that was, Brazilian food. Note the Brazilian flag in the picture? Haha..

I forgot wut this place is called. Lol. Cause it's some funny name. Really value for money cause it's buffet but the waiters will come to your place & serve you instead. Those who were at my 16th bday should know the style.

Jen & I camwhoring. Haha!

Then on that one day where it was a holiday for Taylors peeps, I baked again!

This one's called Spunky shortcake. LOL. En Li & Kok Shen sampled it & they said it's really good! =) I'll bake a batch for En Li as part of her present when she's celebrating.

Back to restaurants.. Tried another new place just last night actually. It's along Heritage road in KL. This one is a MUST visit & was my fav of the lot.

El Cerdo. The restaurant specialises in pork (sorry, Capri) but even Capri will love it! More on that later

Porkielicious Dishes! The logo of the restaurant: a pig's snout! Hahaha!

The place is so good that it was packed full when we arrived! And we thought we could escape the buka puasa rush by going to a non-halal restaurant. Looks like others might have had the same thing in mind. So we had to wait outside for awhile but boy, was it worth the wait. Plus the waiters were so polite & welcoming. They kept appologizing profusely for having to keep us waiting even thought it wasnt their fault whatsover.

Sammy & daddy outside El Cerdo.

Since the restaurant's speciality is pork, it's theme was pigs! Basically the whole place was decorated with pictures / photographs / statues / figurines of pigs! Cute, no?

I can see Capri smiling already hmm? :D The whole place is really really adorable like seriously.

The front cover of the menu.

Funny thing happened: One of the dishes on the menu was a Capri salad & when i pointed it out, my dad went, "Hey, then we can eat Capri!" The salad was served with some ham so i dont know what that means *looks around smiling* but he says lame random stuff like that all the time.

Besides the nice deco & cozy ambience, there was course, THE FOOD. Ever heard the phrase 'heaven on earth'? Well, that was just it.

Smoked ham & rock melon. Unusual appetizer, but the taste: Orgasmic

Cheesy macaroni & ham served in a lasagne dish

The restaurant owner, a really friendly German dude, came to see to the customers & make small talk. We were about to leave when he insisted we try his 'secret' desert which wasnt on the menu. And therefore, I had the BEST desert of my life last night. Should mark down the anniversary =D It's not everyday you discover the best desert you've ever tasted.

A mount of chocolate, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, vanilla ice cream, strawberry sorbet, & topped with a dash of liquor ;) I was so happy I thought i could die.

Life is sweet!

Love u all,

Sammy Y
