Eventhough I couldn't make it for the Melb trip, my friends n I planned our very own road trip to the northern and southern part of Western Australia. We went south first (for 4 days) cuz it's almost winter and the south would be colder if we went later. We went back n rested for a day n then went off to the north (3 days).
There were 5 of us for the south trip and 8 of us for the north.
For the south, we rented a car, bought ourselves a map n off we went! Our aim was to drive down to Albany (402km from Perth) and drive all the way back from there. Along the way we dropped by a lot of places to visit some of their tourist attractions.
Here are some pics!
Day 1:
Our first stop, Busselton!

There was nothing much there except for the Busselton Jetty. It's 2km long!!!!

Sunset! (blocked by clouds tho =.=)

Our "wonderful" accommodation. We got it for a cheap price anyway =)
Day 2:

Some lagoon. We stopped at so many places I can't even remember where we stopped o.0

Some sheep shearing place. Unfortunately for us, their daily show was over when we got there.

Awwwwwwwwwwww....

Our main aim for day 2, Cape Leeuwin! Some lighthouse la at Augusta. But unfortunately for us AGAIN, the lighthouse was closed for visitors when we got there. =(
Day 3: Whalewatching!!!!

Waiting for the boat to pick us up

Didn't take much pictures of the whale cuz my camera's too slow. Took more videos instead.

Quite blur but if u look at the far end of the sea, can see its tail. Cool ler, we got to see it jump out of the water but it was really far away la

The captain said our trip was 2 or 3% of all their trips out whalewatching. Meaning, it was damn rare that we got to see so many whales, about a dozen.

We even saw dolphins! So many of them! Like more than 10 swimming alongside with our boat.

After whalewatching, we went to Jewel Caves. Haha I expected the caves to be filled with jewels but noooo =.=

Treetop walk. The 5 of us

At some wildlife park. Snake! O.O

Birdies! Damn friendly, they like to climb onto ppl.

More sightseeing. Can't rmb where this is.

Elephant rocks. If u look closely, the rock in the middle looks like an elephant. Hence, the name.

The girls

Natural bridge
Overall, the trip was enjoyable. It wasn't adventurous or anything, was more of sightseeing.
I'll blog about the north trip some other time lah..lazy d!
